Awesome camera

I’ve been debating about whether to update my old camera system for a while. We still have the Nest camera, but I would say that the camera quality on the Nanit is a million times better. I honestly wish that I purchased it sooner when my baby was a newborn, as it would have been so much more helpful with monitoring my baby’s breathing patterns, especially with the baby band that is enclosed. The baby band is only for 0-3 months. The set up was incredibly easy and straightforward.  I like how you can give access (full or limited access) to others through the app. The app was easy to navigate and I love the tracking/activity information it provides on our baby’s sleeping patterns, which helps us figure out certain patterns to help maximize his sleep. A con though, is that sometimes the app can be slow or buggy. For example, when it says that an event has occurred and you try to access it through the app, a lot of the times, it will tell you that the video is still processing. Sometimes it’s a hit or miss on whether you’ll be able to access the video for a past movement that is detected.

The camera itself is on a base that is pretty sturdy, as my toddler as touched it many times and I’m not too afraid of it toppling over. It seems solid, although it is made out of plastic so we’ll see how it holds up over time. I love the ability to adjust the height on the stand and the portability of it, being able to move it easily has been helpful with the limited space that it is in. The camera itself is pretty minimalistic, although I wish that the stand can still be slimmer to make it less obvious and intrusive.  The item itself is kind of pricey, but I think its construction and features make it more than well worth it.
